Academician made academic report in LNU
On April 20th, a professor from Wuhan University,Deng Zixin, also the academician in Chinese Academy of Sciences with the third World Academy of Sciences as well as in American Academy of Microbiology , was invited to Leshan Normal University (LNU) to make an academic report entitled Scientific and humanistic thinking behind my ordinary scientific research case. It was hosted by Professor Du Yuanxue, Standing Committee Member of CPC Committee and Vice president in LNU. More than 600 teachers and students attended the report.
Taking the “popular” and “unpopular” research projects which he had researched as an example, Professor Deng illustrated the exploration and humanistic enlightenment behind doing research projects. He thought, when doing “unpopular” researches, the researchers need critical attitude, persistent perseverance and inquisitive spirit. While, in “popular” researches, he emphasized that the key of success was pursuing extension and looking for blind spots and defects. Combining theories with examples, Professor Deng’s report was welcomed by all the teachers and students. In interactive session, the teachers and students had a warm response and actively asked questions.
After the report, Professor Deng said to the correspondents: “I’m honored to come to LNU. Today, I see everyone in school preparing the 40th anniversary and everything goes well. In today’s report, I also feel students’ thirst for knowledge. I hope, they can learn something from this report.”
