Student won prize in national competition
From March 24th to March 25th, the final of the 9th Chinese Mathematics Competitions was held in Xi’an Jiaotong University. Fang Fang, a student from the School of Mathematics and Information in Leshan Normal University (LNU), won the third prize in professional groups.
It was the first time for LNU’s student to participate in the national final alike. According to the statistics, more than 110,000 undergraduates participated in the preliminary competition, but only 414 of them entered the final. In preliminary competition, Fang Fang won the top four while the other three students were all from Sichuan University.
The achievement was based on school’s support, teachers’ cultivation and student’s hard work. Also, through this competition, we obtained some useful experience in talents training and it should also further promote the reform and development of mathematics curriculum construction.
